Lock-in

Privacy Policy

Lock-in is owned by William Magor. This policy covers the Windows app and this website. Last updated 23 October 2026.

On your PC

Sessions, settings, focus totals, and the decisions you teach (this site is for my task) stay in a SQLite database in the app's data folder. A second copy of the trial clock is stored beside it, so editing one file does not reset the trial. There is no Lock-in account.

While a session is running, Lock-in reads the foreground window: the program name and the window title. That is how it tells work from drift. It does not record a screenshot and it does not send that window anywhere.

The browser extension

If you install it, the extension sends the current site to Lock-in on this computer only, at 127.0.0.1, after you paste a pairing code. It does not send the site to a server.

License and checkout

Buying opens a Lemon Squeezy checkout page in your browser. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record and has its own privacy policy. Lock-in sends your license key to the Lemon Squeezy License API when you activate, re-check, or remove it. A working license can stay valid offline for 7 days after the last successful check.

If you type a .edu email for the student price, Lock-in adds it to the checkout link and does not save it.

Updates

When an update server is configured, the app asks that server whether a newer version exists. Until that address is set, it does not check.

This website

The site is static. Instrument Sans is a file on this site. Cloudflare Web Analytics is included so page views can be counted without cookies. The beacon token is a placeholder until it is replaced; until then the beacon does not report a real site. The app itself has no analytics.

Questions

The FAQ is the support channel. There is no email address and no contact form.
